Monroe Charter Township is a charter township of Monroe County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 census, the township population was 14,568. The City of Monroe is adjacent to the township, but is administratively autonomous. It is named after James Monroe, the 5th President of the United States.
Located between the City of Monroe and LaSalle along the Lake Erie shore, Monroe Charter Township boasts residential, commercial and educational opportunities. Our parks and recreation program is one of the best in Monroe County.
Monroe Charter Township offices are home to the township supervisor, clerk, treasurer, building supervisor and satellite fire station office. Residents can apply to register to vote at the Monroe Charter Township offices which are also the voting location for the 5th and 6th precincts.
